hey! quick week-1 update from me + ibrahim. we’re keeping these short and honest.
scoreboard
AutoDial: $0/mo
QuoteThunder: $0/mo
what happened?
📞 AutoDial
iOS approval is still pending. we hit an Apple Sign-In bug → recreated the app → same bug → set up a fresh Apple developer account. waiting on activation to resubmit.
Android build is done.
shipped DTMF support so it can “press 1, 2, 3…” through phone trees.
next for AutoDial: get iOS approved → launch to the waitlist → post a demo → try short-form videos.
🧾 QuoteThunder (built in 24h, inspired by Idea Browser)
we saw an opportunity on Tuesday when Idea Browser put up a new idea for a Photos → Quotes app for service businesses (e.g. landscapers going to customer site, taking photos, generating quote on the spot)
honestly, we have no idea what we're doing with this… so we’ve started pulling real-world feedback from contractors: early thread here → Reddit feedback.
next for QuoteThunder: talk to service business owners, share a clearer demo on reddit + twitter, probe pricing and have those delightful ‘will you pay?’ conversations.
random thoughts
been thinking of product plays as a spectrum:
referrals to existing products: ~0% code / 100% marketing
brand-new products: ~100% code / 0% marketing (at first)
most ideas live somewhere in between—choose the wedge accordingly.
channeling a little Sweaty Startup (Nick Huber) energy: find something service businesses already pay for and do it better / cheaper / faster. talk to owners early.. and make money from Day 1
how you can help
fight phone trees? reply and we’ll add you to the AutoDial early list (android now; iOS when approved).
run a service business and send quotes? reply with “QT” and we’ll DM you access to the QuoteThunder waitlist.
see you next week - same time, same honesty.
